What is Rope Access?
Rope Access is a form of work positioning developed from techniques used in climbing and caving - the industry has an exemplary safety record which comes from strict adherence to the following safety guidelines:
- A rope access technician is always, as a minimum, attached by two independent ropes.
- Operators are independently attached to each rope by fail safe devices.
- All tools and equipment are either attached to workers or independently suspended.
- A minimum of two technicians is required for any job.
- All technicians are independently assessed. Training includes rescue procedures.
- All equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
